If you're planning a private or family tour, everything is fully bespoke, and looked after with real care by our in-house travel consultant, Rachel. She'll work with you to arrange luxury accommodation, seamless travel and a tailored itinerary built entirely around what matters to you — whether that's re-living a relative's journey, visiting specific battlefields, or uncovering stories that have never been told. We'll even handle the historical research on your behalf, so the journey you take is every bit as personal as it is powerful.

Books & Biographies

Whether it's for a museum audience, a veterans' group, a corporate gathering or an organisation event, your audience deserves more than a dry lecture they'll forget by the car park. My talks are sharp, insightful and rooted in real, lived experience — the kind you can't get from a textbook.

Looking to have your family's military story preserved for good? Or after military history that goes deeper than the headlines? I research and write in-depth biographies of military personnel — real stories, properly told and worth remembering.

Walk the ground where history was made. From the beaches of Normandy to the trenches of the Somme, you'll stand exactly where it happened — feeling, in a way no book or documentary can give you, the weight of the decisions, the events and the sacrifices that shaped the world we live in today.

Every tour is personally led by me, start to finish — no handing you off, no one else stepping in. Just me, my knowledge, and my full attention throughout.

Battlefield Guide, Military Historian & Author

History means more when you stand where it happened. I help you do exactly that.

After 26 years in the Royal Air Force, I now guide people like you across the battlefields of Europe — bringing clarity, context and a touch of gallows humour to the places where history truly turned. Whether you're following a relative's footsteps, deepening your knowledge of a campaign that's gripped you for years, or simply a keen enthusiast with a decent pair of walking boots, you're in exactly the right place.

You won't just hear what happened — you'll feel it. I combine first-hand military experience with deep historical research to help you see history through informed eyes, and leave with stories that stay with you long after the coach pulls away.

On every tour, it's just me — no scripts, no handing you off, no dry delivery. Just one former RAF officer helping you connect to the past with real meaning and depth.

Andy,
What a wealth of knowledge you are! We enjoyed hearing all your personal anecdotes as well as the anecdotes of historical figures. We feel somewhat educated about the British side of WWII.
Thank you so much for a wonderful week!

You arranged two absolutely first-rate guides for us in David and Andy. I thought their rapport with the boys and manner of their presentations throughout the trip excellent. I thought the pro-active approach taken by Andy was very good - he engaged with the boys very effectively, established what they knew and didn't know, but did not give them a potted history of WW1 on the spot - which I have perhaps known in the past. Like Heineken, tours with the best of your guides - and these two were that - 'refresh the parts others would not reach’ - so much better for the boys NOT to be hearing from me and a certain 'relatability' to be hearing about military matters from former servicemen, for that matter. I think the boys had a much more effective learning experience.
